James Perkins         Producer/Director
Co-founder and director of Veras Films James is a graduate of the New York Digital
Film Academy. Since his induction into filmmaking in 2004 he has quickly built an
award-winning track record across genres. His original narrative
Pardon my French
was featured by Channel Thirteen  and  he won the
Best Directing Award at the 2008
New York 48 Hour Film Festival. James has nearly a decade of sales and marketing
experience at companies such as Bloomberg LP and  Thomson Reuters and  holds an
MBA from Thunderbird, School of Global Management.
  
Phillip Armand         Cinematographer
Austrian-born Philip Armand woke up to his love of film after an eye-opening
experience in Utah at the Sundance Film Festival.  Since then he has found his
expression mainly as a cinematographer and editor.  His life’s commitments are to
awaken the power and magic in all people through inspiring media.
Robert Albrecht        Director
Rob's recent work includes the short-thriller Drifter, which was featured at the 2009
NY Showbiz Expo and at the SENE Film, Music and Arts Festival. He has also
produced and/or directed the short films (
Harry, Mother's Day), two tv-pilots (Battle of
the Band, As Seen On TV
), a web series (Mediocre New York) and several
commercials (Heinz, Nestle).
Jeff Haber                  Director of Development
Jeff Haber is a talented writer with five feature-length screenplays and several short
films to his credit.  He has received recognition and awards from Fade In Magazine,
The New York Short Film Festival, Amazon.com/Tribeca Film Festival Short Film
Competition, Indie Spirit Film Festival.  Jeff has more than ten years of experience in
marketing, creative development, business strategy, and research.  While operating
his own consultancy, his clients included Paramount Pictures, New Line Cinema, USA
Networks, ESPN Classic, Cartoon Network, Showtime, and About.com. Most recently,
he worked in the marketing strategy divisions of Jobson Publishing and the ID Society.
Jeff received his MBA in Marketing and Information Systems from Fordham University.

 
Ayinde Howell               Composer/Actor
Recent winner of the "Best Actor Award" at the New York 48 Hour Film Festival Ayinde
is a multi-talented actor and musical artist. His lead role in the feature length drama
White Lies, Black Sheep propelled the film to honors at the Toronto Film Festival.  On
the music front his recent album "American Hero" has gained acclaim throughout the
New York hip hop community.
Renee Dittrich          Producer/Director
Renee brings both business and creative experience to Veras. She not only
understands the critical funding and management aspects of producing high quality
commercials and films, but also has a keen intuition for how to bring a project’s
creative vision to life. Renee has worked as a project manager for startups,
companies in transition and emerging funds. She has also worked throughout the
world as a photographer and writer. She graduated with honors from the University of
Colorado at Boulder and holds an MA in Journalism from New York University.

Andy Brown                 Writer/Director
A graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy Andy has a long standing
background as a trained stage actor. Since his migration from theatre to the screen
ten years ago he has written and directed several comedic and dramatic shorts and
music videos. He is currently directing
A Joke,  his adaptation of an Anton Chekhov
story of the same name.
Felipe Soto                  Director/Cinematographer
With over 20 international film and television credits to his name, Felipe Soto is a well
respected up and coming filmmaker. Felipe holds specialized degrees in documentary
production, visual computing, and animation.
Nathan Hartswick    Creative Development
Co-founder of Veras Films Nathan is a seasoned writer and director with more than 20
years of experience working on creative projects ranging from film and theatre to
children's stories and humor essays. Nathan is also a professional marketing
copywriter and editor, and has written for such clients as Smith Barney, Sony, Kraft,
Pepsi and more.
